ENGLISH 9 PRE - AP
1. I will return the To Kill A Mockingbird transition assignment.
2. The class will review the process of writing an essay.
3. I will announce the next novel WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 15, 2010.
4. Each student must have the book MONDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2010 .

7. Each student will select his or her topic.
8. each student will begin gathering information for his or her speech presentation.
9. We will begin speech presentations MONDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2010.
10. Due to the large number of students in each class, it may take two class periods to complete the
presentation (s).
ENGLISH 9
1. I will return the quiz ,and we will discuss The Scarlet Ibis quiz.
2. I will also return their workbook exercises pertaining to sentence and sentence fragments.
3. The class will list the eight parts of speech.
4. The class will proceed to focus on four of the eight parts of speech.
5. The class will begin defining noun, verb, pronoun and adjective.
6.. Each student will complete a grammar and literature study guide.
7. The class will review the lit seletions Thank You Mam, The Scarlet Ibis, and Dog Star.
8. The class will discuss the grammar and literature guide.
9. The class will take his or her test FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2010.
ENGLISH 10
1. Due to expository essay introduction errors, each student will have an opportunity to rewrite his or her
introduction before writing the expository essay.
2. Each student will proceed to write his or her expository essay once I have viewed and approved the
rewrite.
3. The class will read and discuss lit selection.
4. Using the workbook, the class will discuss and review pronouns.
5. Each student will complete a grammar and literature study guide.
6. The class will discuss the guide.
7. Each student will complete his or her test FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2010.
NCTHS YEARBOOK
1. After each student selected his or her layout last week, the students will be gathering photos for their
pages this week.
2. The NCTHS yearbook staff is diligently promoting yearbook presales.
You can purchase a yearbook today! The cost is thirty-five dollars.
You may contact Ms. Cotton at 256-428-7800 for further informaiton.
3. The NCTHS baby photo deadline is Friday September 17, 2010.
4. Lifetouch will be on campus October 15, 2010 to take senior formal photos.
It will take place in the auxiliary gym from 8:00 - 10:00.
5. The NCTHS senior formal deadline is October 31, 2010.
