English 9
On Monday, each student will complete a quiz defining external conflict, internal conflict, direct characterization and indirect characterization. The quiz will also require the students to identify the characters, plot, theme, external conflict, internal conflict, resolution, and irony within the selection The Necklace. On Tuesday, I will return the quizzes in which we will discuss them,and I will answer any questions if necessary. The students will proceed to review their vocabulary on edmodo during the remaining portion of the period. On Wednesday, each student will review the literary devices such as hyperbole, allusion, irony, etc On Thursday, each student will complete a common core practice exercise. We will discuss the practice exercises on Friday.

On Monday, I will distribute questions from The Seive and The Sand which is the second chapter within Fahrenheit 451. The students will complete the questions on Monday ,and they will have an opportunity to complete and submit the questions on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I will distribute the guidelines for their 3-5 page paper on Fahrenheit 451. On Thursday, each student will complete a common core practice exercise. We will discuss the practice exercises on Friday.

On Monday, the class will review irony, allusion, personification,hyperbole, etc in class. On Tuesday, each student will read a literary passage and identify the literary devices within the passage. On Wednesday, we will discuss the exercise and review common core material. On Thursday, each student will complete a common core practice exercise. We will discuss the practice exercises on Friday.
