English 9 Pre-AP
B Days Tuesday: November 29-30, 2011
Pre-AP students will begin reading Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury November 29, 2011. We will also begin discussing their literary analysis midterm paper. I will distribute specific guidelines Wednesday December 1, 2011.
Friday: December 2, 2011
We will begin reading Farenheit 451. I will distribute the midterm topics Thursday and I will allow each studnet to select a topic for his or her paper. We will review writing an introduction with a clear thesis statement.
Homework: Submit an introduction Tuesday December 6, 2011

A Days
Monday: November 28, 2011 
Pre-AP students will begin reading Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury November 28, 2011. We will also begin discussing their literary analysis midterm paper. I will distribute specific guidelines Thursday December 1, 2011.

We will begin reading Farenheit 451. I will distribute the midterm topics Thursday and I will allow each studnet to select a topic for his or her paper. We will review writing an introduction with  a clear thesis statement.

English 9
A Days
Monday: November 28, 2011
English 9 students will begin defining various vocabulary terms in which he or she will need to have a dictionary in class. We will also proceed to confirm the next required reading selection. The required reading selection is Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird. A classroom set is provided ,so there will not be a need to purchase the book. Students will also submit their journal entry and read Beware of the Dog.
Homework: finish reading Beware of the Dog p.687


Thursday: December 1, 2011
The class will review and define the ten vocabulary terms. We will proceed to identify the plot, characters, setting etc., within the selection. They will also proceed to identify adjectives which will be their second quiz.
Due to some low grades with the first quiz, I am allowing a second quiz. After the quiz, we will begin reading To Kill a Mockingbird.
