September 10 - 14, 2012

English 9

         Each student will complete his or her To Kill A Mockingbird test Monday. I will return and discuss the tests on Tuesday.  We will devote the remaining portion of the week to applying the proper reading strategies when introducing the literature selections within the textbook . Also, due to the 8 parts of speech quiz scores, we will also review the eight parts of speech.


English 9 Pre-AP
       
        Each student will complete his or her essay pertaining to the summer reading To Kill A Mockingbird. They began the essay Friday ,and each student will have an opportunity to complete the essay Monday Sept. 10, 2012.  I will begin returning the essays Tuesday. We will discuss content information, the proper way to respond to an essay prompt, and grammatical and/or sentence structure errors. The remaining portion of the week will be devoted to identifying and applying the proper reading strategies and defining various literary terms.


English 10

        The class will read and discuss Edgar Allan Poe's "The Gold Bug" on Monday September 10, 2012.  There will also be a quiz pertaining to "The Gold Bug" on Tuesday September 11, 2012. The remaining portion of the week will be devoted to completing Edgar Allan Poe's study guide. Each student will complete his or her test Thursday September 13, 2012.  I will return and discuss the test Friday September 14, 2012.
