YEARBOOK
     We will discuss and review the schedule for Fall Picture Day which is Friday August. 19, 2011.  We discuss the location, time, order of the day, and distribution of information to the faculty. The NCTHS yearbook staff will begin pre sales of the 2011-2012 NCTHS yearbook and ad promotion. Our Lifetouch representative will arrive within the next two weeks to demonstrate and inform the students regarding constructing their pages using their online program. Page assignments have been distributed. We will concentrate on Fall Picture Day this week.

ENGLISH 9
      We will review the chapters within A Lesson Before Dying. The class will discuss the characters, events, plot, conflict, etc., within the text. Upon the next class meeting, each student will take his or her test regarding the book. A day students will take the test Thursday August 18, 2011. B day students will take the test Friday August 19, 2011. Each student will place notes, discussion questions, and information regarding the test in his or her composition notebook.

SOCIOLOGY
     The students will be introduced to Chapter One: Sociological Perspectives. The objectives are as follows: 
I. Define sociology 
 II. Explain why sociology is a social science  
III. Explain and illustrate the sociological imagination as introduced by C. Wright Mills   
IV. Recognize how sociology's focus differs from and is similiar to the focus of each of the other social sciences
