October 29 - Nov. 2, 2012

English 9 
       On Monday, I will return their concrete and abstract noun quizzes. We will proceed to read the literature selection entitled American History. On Tuesday, they will finish reading the selection in class. They will complete their questions pertaining to the selection as homework. On Wednesday, I will check to see if they completed their homework. We will proceed to discuss the selection using their homework questions as the guide for the discussion. On Thursday, we will review the selection and concrete and abstract nouns. On Friday, they will complete a quiz pertaining to the selection and concrete and abstract nouns.


English 9 Pre-AP
       On Monday, each student will submit a printed copy of their "The New England Nun" questions. We will discuss the selection. Once the discussion is complete, I will return and discuss their grammar quizzes in which they had to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. On Tuesday, we will review interjections, conjunctions, prepositions and pronouns. I will also introduce the Odyssey.
On Wednesday, they will begin reading the background information regarding the Odyseey.
On Thursday, we will begin discussing the backgraound information before proceeding to part one of the Odyssey. On Friday, there will be a quiz pertaining to conjunctions, prepositions, interjections, and pronouns. We will aslo begin reading part one of the Odyssey.


English 10
      On Monday, there will be a quiz pertaining to the Meeting of the Cultures information within the text. On Tuesday, we will discuss the selections"Earth on Turtle's Back" "Navajo Origin Legends" and "When Grizzlies Walked Upright". On Wednesday, they will complete a guided practice identifying the 8 parts of speech. I will also introduce the next selection entitled Museum Indians. On Thursday, the students will read the selection ,and we will discuss the guided practice. On Friday. there will be a quiz pertaining the selection Museum Indians.
